Rough start to the last official semester of my undergraduate education. Is this a sign of things to come, or are things just settling down finally?
Maybe it was simply because I carefully avoided thinking about classes and my future plans over the break, but for whatever reason, I could not get a good schedule of classes that worked for me this semester. I finally got it all worked out today, but I was just one day away from having my schedule fixated in the mess that it was in.
I started out on Monday morning with ridiculously early humanities classes, but on the very first day of school, the teacher simply posted a note on the door stating that she wasn't going to be there. That's a rough start on my first impression of her. To make matters worse, the second time I went to class, the teacher was very rude and snotty in the way she spoke to people. She told the class that she didn't want to become friends with us. She is a teacher and should be treated with the utmost respect. I have a hard time respecting someone who doesn't act in a very respectable manner.
And then I discovered Humanities 201 combined with Business Law (52 Chapters!) and Strategic Management was just plain too much reading for me to handle this semester. So I dropped the class, but that placed me below the required minimum credit hours I needed to take in order to qualify for my academic scholarship. So I had to quickly find a class I could get in to this week to make up for the necessary credit hours. Of course, I didn't want to choose any class as difficult as Hum 201, but my options were severely limited. Nevertheless, with the help of my lovely wife Brittny, I prevailed in obtaining two classes: Racquetball and Strength Training!
And also thanks to Brittny, I have been inspired and motivated by her to set myself some important goals to really achieve change this year. Of course, change will be in my life whether or not I want it, but I want to take a more proactive role. So I am using joesgoals.com to track my progress. Wish me luck!
